She sits on the windowsill
Of a beach house.
The ocean calls her name,
And she answers.
Getting lost, she calls it,
But it looks like being found.
She steps outside
And sinks her feet
In soft, cool sand.
Running, almost dancing,
She falls into the waves
Like familiar arms
And sighs like she suddenly realized
She had been holding her breath
All that time, and only in the water
Can she breathe.
